ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Bail reform and debtor’s prison were the topics on my mind. The notion of a person’s freedom hindered by money or lack thereof is abhorrent. It’s fair to say they are reduced to a base value. The symbolism of Andrew Jackson, slave owner, In God We Trust, Legal Tender and many other ironic metaphors made the use of money a potent visual tool I could not resist.
